Blink Community Guidelines

Date of Last Revision: October, 2021

At Blink, our intention is to bring people together in a safe and inclusive environment; a space for expressing individuality, finding like-minded friends, and connecting with others who share the same interests. We created these Community Guidelines to support our mission by encouraging the broadest range of self-expression while making sure everyone can use our services safely every day.

These Guidelines apply to all content on Blink, and to all users of Blink, equally. We've done our best below, and in our Terms of Service, to set out specific rules that apply to real world situations on Blink. The key is the spirit of the Guidelines: we want Blink to be a safe and positive experience for *everyone*. We reserve the right to decide, in our sole discretion, what content or user actions violate that spirit and will not be permitted on the platform.

Harassment & Bullying
  • Don’t send a message with the intention of making someone feel bad. Bullying can be an individual (or group) that attacks/insults/demeans another individual (or group) in any form, which includes messages, images, videos, or audio conversations. There is a zero tolerance policy on Blink for bullying, and can be grounds for permanent removal without any warning.
  • If someone blocks you, don’t try to contact them from an alternate account.
  • Do not use the word "bullying" in a joking or playful context; Blink takes all claims of bullying seriously on the platform, and reserve the right to take action even if some behavior occured on another platform.
  • Cyber-mobbing not permitted in any form, and is a permabannable offense. Cyber-mobbing is a special form of bullying that generally involves more than one person or online-aggressor, and is defined as a group of people ganging up on someone using tactics of rumor, innuendo, discrediting, isolating, intimidating, and above all, making it look as if the targeted person is responsible (victim blaming). Cyber-mobbing can be particularly distressing as it can make the victim feel as though everyone is against them and there's nowhere to turn. This is partially because it's difficult to tell who is instigating the attacks - the “ringleader” can sometimes be hidden behind the actions of multiple other people, leaving the victim unable to defend themselves from the lead bully.
Unauthorized Personal Information Sharing (Doxxing)
  • Sharing another person’s private information without their knowledge and consent is not allowed. Examples of private infromation are phone number, email, last name, physical address, family members, criminal record, or any other personally identifiable information.
  • If you inadvertently reveal information and someone asks you to remove it, do so immediately.
  • Do not share your own phone number, or request someone else's phone number in communities, audio chats, or DMs on Blink.
Gaslighting
  • Gaslighting is the manipulation of someone by psychological means into questioning their own sanity, and is not allowed. Behavior, discussions and disagreements on Blink are expected to be civil, striaghtforward and respectful.
Sexually Explicit Content & Predatory Behavior
  • We prohibit accounts that promote or distribute pornographic content.
  • We report child sexual exploitation to authorities. Never post, save, or send nude or sexually explicit content involving anyone under the age of 18 — even of yourself. Never ask a minor to send explicit imagery or chats.
  • Never offer money or items of value to minors in exchange for any kind of behavior — sexual or otherwise. Examples of such terminology are Sugar Daddy, Sugar Mama, etc.
  • Never recruit minors on behalf of a third party for any kind of behavior — sexual or otherwise.
Self Promotion
  • Do not advertise your social handles from another social media platform within public spaces on Blink, which includes public communities or Party lines unless specifically given permission by a moderator. If a community moderator is found to be exploiting their authority in this respect, this is grounds for demodding and/or permanent removal from Blink.
  • Do not recruit members to other social platforms within public spaces on Blink. If this behavior is found to be specifically targeting users to the detriment of Blink, offenders can be removed from Blink without warning.
Threats, Violence & Harm
  • Encouraging violence or dangerous behavior is prohibited — never threaten to harm a person, a group of people, or someone’s property.
  • Any images, videos or messages of gratuitous or graphic violence are not allowed.
  • We don’t allow the glorification or deep discussion of self-harm or other triggering topics, including the promotion of self-injury or eating disorders.
Impersonation, Alternate Accounts, False Information
  • Pretending to be someone you’re not — this includes your friends, celebrities, brands, or other organizations — or attempting to deceive people about who you are is not allowed.
  • Creating alternate accounts in an attempt to circumvent disciplinary actions (including bans, muting, or otherwise) are subject to permanent removal from Blink.
  • We prohibit spam and other deceptive practices, including manipulating content for misleading purposes.
  • We prohibit spreading false information that causes harm or is malicious, such as denying the existence of tragic events, unsubstantiated medical claims, or undermining the integrity of civic processes.
Illegal Content
  • Don’t use Blink for illegal activities — including to buy or sell illegal drugs, contraband, counterfeit goods, or illegal weapons.
  • We prohibit the promotion and use of certain regulated goods, as well as the depiction or promotion of criminal activities.
Hate Groups & Hate Speech
  • Hate groups are prohibited from using Blink and we have zero tolerance for content that advocates or advances violent extremism or terrorism.
  • Hate speech or content that demeans, defames, or promotes discrimination or violence on the basis of race, color, caste, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, or veteran status, immigration status, socio-economic status, age, weight or pregnancy status is prohibited.
  • Blink has a zero tolerance policy for racism, homophobia, misogyny and ableism, and is subject to immediate and permanent removal from the platform. Furthermore, racial slurs, homophobic slurs, mysoginistic slurs, or any known emoji substitution/representation of such slurs not permitted, in any context.
